Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Samurai Summary (the “Service”), including the web app at app.samuraisummary.com and the Samurai Summary Chrome extension. The Service is provided by AlwaysBeta S.r.l., [registered address], VAT [VAT number] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Samurai Summary lets you save the transcript of YouTube videos you choose and use AI to generate summaries, timestamps, translations, answers in a chat, and to keep highlights and folders. The Chrome extension reads a video's transcript only when you click its button, and sends it to your account.

2. Your account

You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account and must keep access to it secure. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

3. Free trial

Every new account can analyze up to 3 videos for free, with all features. Videos added during the trial stay available in your account. Deleting a video does not restore trial videos.

4. Subscriptions and billing

• Samurai Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription at the price shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from “Manage billing”; you keep access until the end of the period already paid.
• If a payment fails we may retry it; access may be suspended if the payment is not completed.
• Prices may change; we will notify you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal.
• Right of withdrawal (EU consumers): [policy to confirm — e.g. digital service starts immediately at your request, and you acknowledge losing the 14-day withdrawal right once the service has been fully provided; or a refund policy within 14 days.]

5. Fair use

Samurai Pro includes unlimited videos for personal use. To keep the service fast and affordable for everyone, we may limit accounts whose usage is far above that of a typical user — for example automated or bulk processing, or sharing one account among several people. We'll always contact you before applying any limit.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for unlawful purposes; attempt to access other users' data; overload, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell the Service; or use it in a way that violates YouTube's Terms of Service or the rights of content owners. You are responsible for how you use transcripts and AI outputs, including respecting copyright.

7. Your content

You keep any rights you have in the content you save (videos you choose, chat messages, highlights, folders). You grant us the limited permission needed to store and process it to provide the Service. You can delete videos at any time.

8. AI-generated content

Summaries, timestamps, translations and chat answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes or omissions. They are provided for convenience and are not professional advice. Always check important information against the original video.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may change over time. The Service depends on third parties (such as YouTube captions and AI providers) whose availability is outside our control.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms. [Account deletion process — e.g. email us to delete your account and data.]

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material we will notify you before they take effect; continuing to use the Service afterwards means you accept them.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Italian law. [Competent court / consumer forum to confirm.] If you are a consumer in the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence.
